Description

Denver and Rio Grande Railroad.

Brass fancy back switch lock ornately cast D&RGRR.  Manufactured by Slaymaker and hallmarked as such.

The lock mechanism is finicky to say the least.  The lock opens but the shackle does not spring open, you have to apply some pressure with your hand while turning the key and it pops open.  To close the lock you have to push down the shackle and turn the key to get it to lock.  The dust cover has no spring tension left and swings freely.

A great piece of 1890’s Colorado railroad history with a beautiful dark patina that displays very well.  This is the patina you want on these locks.
