Description

Utah Southern Railroad.

Brass switch lock manufactured by Union Brass.  Hallmarked Union Brass.

Good spring in the dust cover.  Original clevis is present and there is very slight play in the shackle.  No key so we can't verify if it works.

Beautiful original, uncleaned patina.

The Utah Southern Railroad was built by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (The Mormons, LDS Church) in 1871 to
connect Salt Lake City to points south and made its way down to Frisco, UT which was southwest of Salt Lake City.  The railroad was later merged into another Mormon railroad in 1881, the Utah Central Railway.

A very nice piece of early western railroad history.
