Description

Northwestern Pacific Railway.

Adams and Westlake model 1909 railroad lantern embossed on the lid "NWPRR".  This is one of the earliest known lanterns from this road to exist.  Light surface pitting on the frame.

The globe is a clear cast transitional style extended base "N.W.P."  Strong strike with large beautiful letters.  This globe is extremely rare and seldom seen.  There are less than a handful of these globes known to have survived and in collections.  Very good condition overall with light rim flakes.  No cracks.

Great lantern from a road that ran in California's North Coast from Marin County to Eureka.  Amazing piece of California railroad history.
