Description

Denver and Rio Grande Railroad.  Handlan Buck manufactured brakeman's lantern.  The Handlan model.  Stamped on the lid D&RGRR.  Appears to never have been cleaned and as found by the collector.  Correct bail stiffener, fount, lid latch.  The burner appears to be an Adams and Westlake but the fount is the correct Handlan fount with the 1908 patent dates.  Globe is a clear etched melon globe.  Globe is hallmarked Macbeth Pearl Glass.  Rare to see on the majority of melon globes.  One small rim sliver at the bottom of the globe to note.  Nice piece of Colorado railroad history that could have seen usage on both narrow gauge and standard gauge lines of the Rio Grande.
