Description

California Southern Railroad.  Switch lock.  Hallmarked Bohannon.  Play in the shackle so it might still open with the correct key.  Nice brass patina.

Hardware from this railroad is very elusive.  The California Southern Railroad was a subsidiary of the Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe formed in 1880 to build the line over Cajon Pass.  The first train over the infamous Cajon Pass in 1885.  The line also was built from Barstow to San Diego, California.  A very nice lock from an early California railroad.
