Description

Denver and Rio Grande Railroad.  Adams and Westlake model 1895 twist off wire bottom lantern frame.  Globe seat model 1895 frame.  The lantern frame has a dark smooth gray with light spots of brown patina with some some remaining tin on the lower cage.  The globe is a clear extended base cast with the medium serif "D&RGRR" in a panel.  The strike on the globe is very heavy and stunning in person.  The globe has one 1/4" flea bit along the top of the globe that does not show when in the lantern frame.  The extended base portion of the globe has the normal flea bites from service.  The globe is a tight fit in the frame and requires some finagling to get it into the frame.  This globe really deserves a nice no globe seat frame to call home.  A nice piece of early Colorado railroad history that would have seen usage on both standard and narrow gauge operations.
