Description

Milwaukee Lake Shore and Western Railroad.  Lamp is an Adams and Westlake model 1882 brass top bell bottom engine classification lamp.  Lamp is designated "Right".  The lamp is in overall good condition but there are a couple of things to note.  One of the original glass lenses is cracked and shown in a photo.  The fuel font is an Adams and Westlake font but appears to be a little later font.  The brass cap looks to have been repaired at one time.  The lamp comes with the original glass flat inserts that mount behind the clear lenses.  Included are three green and one red glass inserts.

The Milwaukee Lake Shore and Western Railroad connected Milwaukee with the upper peninsula area and then to Chicago via the Chicago and Northwestern Railway.  The railroad was gone by 1893 so this is a very early class lamp and rare offering.
